Financial Services

The Housing Education Program provides specific individualized housing services nationwide for our partners including banks, credit unions, and private corporations. We are able to tailor our program to fit the specific housing needs of each individual partner. Most often these services include pre-purchase education and the creation of an Action Plan for Homeownership, and post-purchase counseling which we call Early Delinquency Intervention.

We employ a sophisticated data processing system, allowing us to generate daily, monthly, and annual reports indicating the types and results of the housing counseling services provided.

Native-American Groups

Native American families have pursued off-reservation housing through the assistance of HUD grants as well as private-sector collaborative efforts. The Housing Education Program helped launch a comprehensive financial literacy pilot program designed to cover budgeting, credit report analysis, mortgage loan qualification and post purchase homeownership responsibilities. This program assisted a local Native American Housing Authority launch a silent-second program that effectively created a bridge for Native Americans to transition from reservation housing to ownership of off-reservation housing.

Municipalities

We offer a series of home buying workshops to educate city employees how to participate in and prepare for home buying programs offered to them as city employees. We consult with public servants to design and implement homebuyer programs such as 2nd mortgage loan programs and down payment assistance loan programs. Additionally, we provide specialized post-purchase default mortgage counseling to address the restrictive provisions inherent to the city loan program.

Non-Profit Groups

We provide on-site “train-the-trainer” services to non-profit groups that provide home buying outreach to target-communities. Credit reports, credit report bureaus, credit scoring, fair credit reporting laws and mortgage lending underwriting can present technical challenges because the industry is rapidly and frequently changing. Our staff is abreast of such changes and can appropriately train the staff to address such issues.

“When we received our seed funding from Freddie Mac to launch a new homeownership center we were uncertain of how we were going to effectively leverage our funds. The Housing Education Program provided consultation and direction with how we could manage the 'intake' aspect of the community we were charged with serving.”

– Mission Economic Development Association Homeownership Cente

“We were uncertain how to offer homeownership opportunities to our 2,000 employees. The Housing Education Program helped us create a protocol that allowed us to provide outreach to each city employee who showed an interest in becoming a homeowner.”

– City of Sunnyvale
